About the University
Novgorod State University named after Yaroslav the Wise (NovSU) is one of the leading educational centers in Northwestern Russia. The university actively develops engineering education and implements large-scale federal and international initiatives, including participation in the program for establishing Advanced Engineering Schools.
The NovSU Winter University is a unique platform for interaction between students from Russia, BRICS countries, the CIS, and neighboring states. The project brings together 200 engineering students, and partnerships with leading regional enterprises make the programs practical and focused on the real sector of the economy.

The Educational Block of the Winter University is designed to provide engineering students with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills in six key areas: Virtual and Augmented Reality, Digital Signal Processing, Building Information Modeling, Industrial Information Systems, Cybersecurity, and Micro- and Nanotechnologies. The program combines lectures, hands-on training, and laboratory work, enabling participants to master modern engineering tools, explore cutting-edge technologies, and prepare for the development of their own project solutions.

Project Module
Each participant works in a team on an engineering project within the chosen track. Project development takes place in the laboratories of the NovSU Advanced Engineering School, with the support of mentors and industry consultants.
Main stages:
- Idea generation and defining the target audience,
- Developing the terms of reference and testing hypotheses,
- Competitor analysis,
- Scientific information research,
- Project presentation at an expert session,
- Final presentation at Demo Day.
Industrial partners of the project include: PJSC “Acron,” JSC “Elsi,” JSC “TsNII Tsiklon,” and other leading enterprises of the Novgorod region.
Cultural and Leisure Program
Includes:
- Excursions around Veliky Novgorod and the Kremlin
- Workshops on traditional crafts
- Acoustic concerts, quizzes, sports tournaments
- Final concert and award ceremony
